My name is Risa McKinney and I am a wife and full-time photographer. I’m originally from Pennsylvania, born and raised in Lancaster (no…I’m not Amish haha). I moved to the great show me state of Missouri about 5 years ago. This is where I met my amazing husband, Aaron Mark. He is my rock, motivator and the number one reason I am able to pursue my dreams of being a photographer. You know the song “you make my dreams come true”, this man truly does that. We got married in 2016 and moved to Kansas City where I was then able to attend the Kansas City Art Institute. I graduated with my photography certificate in 2018 and am constantly learning new things about the beautiful world of photography .
I am based in Kansas City Missouri/Kansas and the surrounding area. I specialize in creating raw and genuine depictions of my clients. Whether that be through the sweet yawn of a newborn, the energetic personality of a toddler, or the intimate moments between loved ones; I capture it all. My favorite thing about photography is being able to freeze time through a picture. I feel alive when I’m behind a camera catching a glimpse into the personal life of those I photograph. I love being able to share those stories with my clients. It is truly an honor to let my passion be a gift to someone else.
