As a child I dreamed of being a teacher. It was the only thing I ever wanted to do, and I went after my dream with devotion. Working with kids energized me, brought me joy, and—just as I imagined—the classroom life came easy.
When my husband and I welcomed our firstborn daughter, I discovered another passion: being a mother. Always driven, I found a balance between family life and the energetic classroom. My love for working with children expanded. As a mom, I wanted to document the way my daughter was changing and growing right before my eyes.
As the small milestones passed (the first smile, the first time sitting up), I craved a camera to stop time just for a moment. My husband heard my yearning and bought me my first camera as a gift.
I fell in love with photography with the same passion I had for teaching. From my first days behind the camera I had a drive to be great, so I started taking classes. I took portraits of my daughter that was gaining attention from my friends and family that quickly morphed from a hobby into the launch of a very small photography business. That business didn’t stay small for long.
