Hello! My name is Vanessa. I am the owner, photographer, editor and wearer of all other hats at Vanessa Kay Photography, located in Orange County, CA. At home, I am happily married and mom to four amazing kiddos and 2 amazing horses, 2 golden retrievers and 2 cats. When I’m not busy taking care of my happy little family, I can be found riding my horse into the sunset, whipping up culinary delights for my friends and family, singing in a professional choir, curled up with a good book, playing on Pinterest or hanging out with my friends – many of whom started out as clients of mine! At work – I have been happily photographing weddings, families, pets and people of all ages – from one day old to 98 – since 2003. I am known for my patience and ability to connect with my clients, making portrait sessions fun and enjoyable, as well as going to extra mile to make sure that the end result is even better than what is hoped for. I enjoy creating meaningful artwork and unique heirlooms to be enjoyed now and for generations to come.

I’m Margie! My full name is Marjorielee Christianson, which fits me pretty well because it sounds creative but functionally, a bit awkward. Most of my life has been spent bouncing around different disciplines in the communications field—I ended up with a graduate degree and have found a niche working in higher education and growing my skills as a graphic designer, photographer, and social media manager.
But most importantly: I like dogs. Probably more than is considered healthy for a normal person to like dogs. I’ve come to terms with this. So, I started taking photos of them—my dogs, my friends’ dogs, and really, just any dog. And it just took off from there.
Getting to know the pet and owner is my favorite part of the process: How did they meet? What’s their favorite pastime? Favorite adventure together? These stories are not only interesting to hear, but critical in being able to produce an image that captures their unique personality and relationship.
Also, of note: Most of my work is created outdoors with limited equipment. You might see me crawling on the ground (possibly inside a bush), climbing up a boulder, or buried in a snowbank all in order to get that perfect combination of light and scenery.
Pet photography fills my bucket personally and professionally. I hope I can continue on this journey for years to come. Right now I serve the New River and Roanoke Valleys in Virginia.

I am a photographer with a wide range of interests and I shoot pets, newborns, portraiture – both in the studio and in natural light, boudoir, and maternity photography. But my love of photography developed from being out in nature and observing the world around me.
Creative on-location photography for your pets based in Denver, CO.
Everyone deserves to have their beloved pets immortalized in the form of beautiful pictures, wall art, or photo albums. My goal and passion is to create wonderful memories of your best furry friend that you can cherish for years to come. I want to create keepsakes of the life you share with your trusted companion, capturing the spontaneous nature of your pet, whether Duke or Molly is observing the environment, chasing a ball, or just hanging out with you. I also specialize in digital paintings of pets.
I don’t take pictures. I create memories.
I’ve always loved photography. I viewed it as a passion, not a job. That was until I married the love of my life last year. We were going through all the insanity that goes into planning a wedding and I was put in charge of finding a wedding photographer. Not only did they have to be talented, but they also had to be an affordable wedding photographer. The words “affordable wedding photographer” are rarely found in the same sentence and when they are the company’s idea of what an affordable wedding photographer is, is vastly different from mine.
I’m middle class, born and raised. The thought of shelling out $1,000 -$3,000 for someone to take photos blew my mind. It made me sick that event photographers would happily charge someone that much money just because higher prices are expected for weddings. Why was there no one out there who offered truly affordable wedding photography?
As I looked around on different photography websites hoping to find a local photographer within our budget I continued to become blown away by astronomical prices. Why was it impossible to find an affordable photographer? I found someone who did birthday photography and wanted $800 for two hours! Is that Steven Spielberg behind the camera? The list went on and on and on. Engagement photographer, $1,000. Graduation photographer, $500. Headshots, $400. It was insane.
I want to give people who are in need of high-quality professional photos, but who don’t want to spend a week’s pay or more for t
